4SED Student Spotlight: Edmond Hong
4SED Foundation takes pride in the exceptional students who participate in our college mentoring program. Not only do we get to witness their acceptances into the colleges of their dreams–we also watch as they blossom into the self-motivated, change-makers of the future.
Today, we will be spotlighting one of our very own mentees from the Class of 2022 cohort.
Introducing Edmond Hong, from Alhambra High School. Edmond shares his journey with us, as well as the impact 4SED has had on his life.
What are your plans for higher education?
I will be attending UCSD, majoring in cognitive science (specializing in machine learning and neural computation).
What are your career goals?
I hope to either be a software engineer or work for an environmental non-profit!
How did 4SED Foundation help you in your application journey?
Honestly, without 4SED and the help of my supportive mentor, I probably would’ve started the college application process a month prior to the deadline. But my mentor gave me a six-month headstart and guided me the whole way with weekly meetings and assignments. From giving me advice in selecting a major to helping me polish my essays, my mentor couldn’t have been more active and involved.
Thank you, Edmond, for your positive attitude and wonderful achievements. From all of us at the 4SED Foundation, we are beyond proud of you!
