4SED's Impact on Students: Hero Khun

Over the past several years, the 4S Education Foundation has been a mentorship program that supported countless high school seniors throughout the college application process, offering insightful input to help improve PIQs and personal statements from exceptional mentors, making a well-fitted college list, and many more! Each year, 4Sed celebrates the accomplishments of remarkable students who, through hard work and determination, are now embarking on their college journeys. Through a series of blogs, we aim to highlight the success of these inspiring students and their stories.

Today, we are featuring Hero Khun, a recent Downtown Magnets High School graduate and an incoming first-year student at the University of Southern California, where he will major in Kinesiology!

The application journey wasn’t without challenges. Like many other high school students under the intense pressure of the college process, Hero faced self-doubts and uncertainty about his potential. According to Hero, it was during these times that the 4S Education Foundation and his mentor, Sima Arslan, a current USC undergraduate student, played a pivotal role in his success. With Sima’s help, Hero was able to effectively frame his unique qualities, presenting himself as a standout applicant. 4Sed’s support also extended beyond the application— Hero’s mentor, Sima became a source of encouragement and reassurance that helped Hero recognize his strengths and capabilities throughout these stressful moments.

Hero’s new journey at USC is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter! We are so proud to celebrate his achievements and look forward to all he will accomplish in the future!

Quote from Hero:

“When I was unsure whether I was a student who belonged to top educational institutions, 4SED instilled the belief that I was an excellent student, leveraging my unique qualities to present the best version of myself. Without them, I would not have been accepted into my top school.”
