Check your Emails this June!
The 4S Education Program serves as an opportunity to high school students that provides mentorship, scholarship and financial aid resources, guiding them from the moment they’re accepted into the program to their college commitment and more. This blog post will highlight the process every program participant goes through to get in.
February - Apply
Every year, the application process opens up in February, where students can show their interest in the program and spotlight how they contribute and embody the leading values of the program: tenacity, determination, and strong character into their answers.
May - Interview
The written application is then followed by an interview in May in which the program mentors can get to know the students better and start to think of an individualized plan for the individual’s college application journey.
June - Acceptances
After all of this, students will be selected in June based on their holistic application and will individually be assigned a mentor that will establish a bond by getting to know each other more, creating a plan together, and overall, helping them throughout the whole college application.
From June all the way to the following May, each mentor and mentee will designate at least 25 hours throughout the course of the program to help guide and be guided with college applications. This goes all the way from researching and creating a list of schools to writing and proofreading applications and essays to clicking the “submit button” on their application to getting accepted from colleges and then to finally committing to the school they’re going to. (And everything in between!) Not only that, but each participant could ask for help with whatever they could be dealing with in school including tutoring for certain subjects and could also go meet with specific mentors based on their experiences and skill sets. The 4S Education Program is an expanding and trusted community focused on the successes of their students!
It is now the first day of June so make sure to keep an eye out on your emails to see if you got accepted to be part of our next cohort for the Class of 2028 admissions cycle!
