  • The term "Easter" is derived from Eostre, or Eostrae, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring and fertility

  • Egg decorating may have been established as an Easter tradition because eggs represent fertility and birth, and Easter celebrates Jesus’ re-birth.

  • On Easter Sunday morning, the Easter Bunny delivers candy and chocolate eggs to children. 

  • The annual White House Easter Egg Roll is a famous Easter tradition where children get to roll Easter eggs down Capitol Hill.
