Hey students, do you have questions about the college application process?
I’ve got you covered! Today, I’ll be answering the three common questions that college applicants have:
In case you didn’t catch my answers in the video, read them below!
Q: How early do I begin preparing for college?
A: As early as possible! I would recommend beginning summer after your junior year; this will take away a lot of the stress later on down the line when you find yourself busy with senior year classes and activities. At the end of the day, just make sure that you reaching your deadlines!
Q: Where do I begin in the college application process?
A: Think of what major or majors you are interested in pursuing in college. Make this decision based on topics that you are genuinely interested in exploring further while at college, as opposed to career or financial prospects. Once you’ve narrow down your major(s), compile a list of schools that have exceptional programs that specialize in these fields. Likewise, create your list based on what each college has to offer rather than solely prestige.
Q: There are so many colleges to choose from–how do I begin narrowing down my options?
A: Think about what you value from a university campus. Do you prefer public or private schools? In-state or out-of-state, maybe even international? Do you want to attend a school with a large student population, or do you prefer the more intimate setting of a smaller student population? What campus organizations or academic/research opportunities are available to you? An important consideration is also the overall cost of attendance–how much would tuition cost? How generous are the financial aid packages? All important considerations when choosing the right college campuses for you.
