What are your New Year's Resolutions?

What are your New Year’s Resolutions? The new year is a great time to set goals for yourself but don’t let this hinder your from setting goals during the year as well. How many goals are you setting for yourself this year? Is it related to academics or your personal life?

My New Year’s resolution is to complete an Olympic triathlon. Cardio and endurance has always been something that’s been challenging for me, so it’s my goal to get better at it this year. I joined a triathlon club which has helped me stick to my goal of completing a triathlon. It’s helped me so much in achieving my goal of completing my first triathlon in November, so I’d highly recommend finding someone (or a group of people) to keep you accountable.

When deciding on my New Year’s resolution, I try to pick something that builds off my current activities. It’s something that I could work up to and allows me to keep my resolutions in sight. When I pick something that I want to work on, whether it’s learning a new skill or improving my habits, I try to do the activity I pick daily so I can start a streak. Keeping track of my streaks make me more reluctant to stop my activity and it’s really easy to begin a streak in the first place. This has worked for me in achieving new goals and habits.
