Happy National Recycling Day

Happy National Recycling Day! Did you know that there are more than 2,633 landfills in the United States? Every year, we send tons of waste to landfills without knowing our actions' impact.

This day serves as a reminder to live with or get in the process of enacting sustainable habits that make a friendly environment.

Here are some ways how you can participate in National Recycling Day:

1. Recycle

You should definitely recycle on national recycling day! If your household doesn’t already have a recycling bin, you could also buy one and inform those living with you to recycle and what exactly counts. Recycle your plastic water bottles, cans, clothing, and the list goes on. You can also recycle for cash, including aluminum cans, ink cartridges, scrap metal, and more!

2. Purchase recycled products

Not only does buying recycled goods help promote the message to others, but it allows for more brands and companies to start sustainable methods of production using recycled materials. The options you could shop for range from bags to clothing!

3. Join an event

Maybe there’s an event happening near you today! It could be in your school, neighborhood, or maybe at a local park! Try joining them and the activity they’re doing, including picking up trash around your community! It’d be a great way to help out and celebrate National Recycling Day.

4. Create a challenge

Try creating a challenge with your friends and family! And set a prize too while you’re at it so there could be an incentive for everyone to join.  The challenge could be whoever recycles the most wins!

5. Spread Awareness

If you don’t have time, try spreading awareness on the day and maybe even tell the person next to you fun or statistical facts that can encourage recycling. You could also promote on your social media and spread the word around with those nearby.

Once again, happy National Recycling Day! Let’s make our Earth cleaner, one step at a time.
