4S Student Spotlight: Holly, UC Irvine

The 4S Education Foundation’s mission is to improve higher educational opportunities for students by guiding them through their college application process, equipping them with critical writing skills, and mentoring them through their college journey.

The best part of this Foundation is meeting these ambitious, tenacious and resilient students and helping them achieve their college goals.

Today, we’re featuring one of our former 4S students, who was impacted by the 4S Education Foundation’s mission so much that she decided to be a mentor!

Meet Holly!

Holly is a mentor and former member of the 2020 cohort of 4S Scholars.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR COURSE OF STUDY?

A: I’m currently in my sophomore year, studying public health policy at the University of California in Irvine.

Q: WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO BE A 4S MENTOR?

A: When I was a senior in high school, I had the privilege of being mentored by Julie. She made my whole college application process more doable with encouragement, feedback, and guidance. For this reason, I decided to be a 4S Mentor because in the same way my mentor inspired me, I wanted to do the same for other students, helping them get into the college that they’re meant to attend!

Q: YOUR DREAM JOB?

A: I hope to work with children in the future.

Q: ANY INTERESTS?

A: I like to sing and play the guitar!

As a former 4S student, Holly understands what it’s like to work on college applications, choose the right school, seek out scholarships and experience being a college freshman.
